People left gobsmacked after White House posts bizarre video

A newly released video by the White House has gone viral for all the wrong—or right—reasons, depending on who you ask.

The clip, posted on official social media channels, shows highlights from President Donald Trump’s recent visit to the Netherlands for the NATO summit. Set to Usher’s 2010 hit “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home)”, the video appears to lean into a strange and now-infamous moment that occurred during the summit.

During the press conference, Trump delivered a blunt take on escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, saying the two nations “don’t know what the f**k they are doing,” and likening their conflict to “two kids in a schoolyard.” NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte chimed in with a comment that instantly lit up the internet:

“And then Daddy has to sometimes use strong language to get it stopped.”

Though Rutte later clarified that he wasn’t calling Trump “Daddy,” the label stuck—and the White House, surprisingly, seems to have embraced it.

The video montage features Trump grinning, shaking hands with Dutch royals, and posing for cameras—all timed perfectly to the lyrics of Usher’s “Daddy’s Home.”

Reactions online were swift and polarizing.

“Ok that’s weird,” one user posted on X (formerly Twitter).
“I refuse to believe this is the real White House account,” wrote another, assuming it was parody.
“What did I just watch?” asked one viewer, while others assumed the video came from a satirical page.

But not everyone was horrified.

“Absolutely epic! Whoever runs this page deserves a raise,” one user declared.
“This is the funniest White House ever,” another replied, with a laughing emoji barrage.
“Kudos to the social media team—iconic,” read another comment.

Whether viewed as bold meme-worthy trolling or an embarrassing misstep, the video has undeniably struck a chord. With the 2024 campaign in full swing, one thing is certain: the Trump-era White House is leaning into the chaos—and having a little too much fun doing it.

What’s your verdict: cringe-worthy or cleverly chaotic?
