On the fifth day of the explosive federal trial against Sean “Diddy” Combs, singer and model Casandra “Cassie” Ventura broke down on the witness stand as she gave deeply emotional and disturbing testimony about the “Freak Off” sex parties she says she was coerced into participating in by the music mogul.
Testifying in Manhattan federal court on Friday, May 16, Ventura — now more than eight months pregnant — recounted in harrowing detail how Combs allegedly used his power and control to manipulate every aspect of her life, from her career to her body.
“I had to do Freak Offs,” Ventura said through tears, during re-direct questioning. “His mood affected my whole life — my career, how I felt about myself, my self-worth.” She testified that whenever Combs wanted one of these so-called “Freak Offs,” she was expected to drop everything. Her work, her life, and her independence would be put on hold.

According to Ventura, preparing for the Freak Offs became part of a twisted routine. She described meticulously grooming herself, setting up rooms, and arranging for other women — often escorts — to be present. “He introduced me to a world I didn’t know or understand at the time,” she said.
Ventura’s emotional breakdown came during a particularly devastating moment in court. Prosecutor Emily Johnson asked her, “Would you give that money back if it meant you never had to have Freak Offs?”
Ventura began to cry again, pausing before answering: “If I never had to have Freak Offs, I would have agency and autonomy. I wouldn’t have had to work so hard to get it back.”
This was a reference to the civil lawsuit she filed against Combs in 2023, in which she accused him of rape, repeated physical abuse, and years of manipulation. That lawsuit, she confirmed on the stand earlier in the week, was settled for $20 million — a sum that has since become a point of contention. The defense has suggested Ventura was financially motivated, noting that she canceled a music tour shortly after the settlement. Ventura refuted that narrative, explaining she was emotionally overwhelmed and wanted to focus on her children.
Her testimony became even more harrowing as she revealed that she had been forced to participate in Freak Offs even while suffering from a urinary tract infection. She also claimed she was assaulted more than once during these encounters — which she described as something she felt compelled to endure in order to preserve her relationship with Combs.
Throughout the trial, Ventura has emerged as the prosecution’s most powerful witness. Since taking the stand on Tuesday, May 13, she has painted a chilling portrait of a decade-long relationship marked by fear, surveillance, and alleged psychological and sexual abuse. She told the jury that Combs would isolate her, monitor her movements, and threaten to release compromising videos if she disobeyed or tried to leave.
Combs is currently facing a series of serious federal charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and the interstate transportation of individuals for the purposes of prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
As the trial unfolds, Ventura’s testimony has become a focal point, offering a rare, firsthand glimpse into the inner world of one of the most powerful men in music — and the control she says he wielded behind closed doors.
