Speaking with local media, Brandon Mayor Butch Lee expressed the heartbreak reverberating across the community.
“This was a horrible incident,” Lee said in an interview with WJTV. “It’s even more tragic when a domestic situation like this happens in front of children. Our prayers go out to everyone connected to those involved.”
While police have not yet confirmed whether the couple’s children were present during the shooting, multiple reports have suggested that the act may have been committed in front of at least one child. McDonald’s Operator Responds to Shooting
The McDonald’s franchise where the shooting occurred is operated by O’Ferrall Management Group, which released a public statement in response to the tragedy:
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident, and our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ family and loved ones,” the company said.
“We’re providing support to our restaurant employees and will continue to assist law enforcement with their ongoing investigation.”
Employees who were present at the time of the incident are reportedly being offered grief counseling and other support services, though further details have not been made public.
