To bring their dream wedding to life, Bezos and Sánchez have enlisted Lanza & Baucina Limited, a renowned luxury event planning firm specializing in A-list Venetian weddings. The firm is best known for orchestrating the Clooney wedding in 2014 and Salma Hayek’s 2009 marriage to François-Henri Pinault.
In a statement to Page Six, the planners assured critics that the event has been meticulously designed with Venice’s cultural and environmental sensitivities in mind:
“From the outset, instructions from our client and our own guiding principles were abundantly clear: the minimising of any disruption to the city, the respect for its residents and institutions, and the overwhelming employment of locals in the crafting of the events.”
Despite recent anti-tourism protests in the city, organizers emphasize that Bezos has committed to supporting Venice and its lagoon through nonprofit partnerships and environmental efforts.
