What started as a heated poker room dispute may soon explode under the bright lights of a boxing ring.
TMZ Sports has learned that NFL icon Adrian Peterson and his poker nemesis Joe “Baby Joe” Castaneda have officially received an offer to settle their differences not with chips and cards — but with fists and gloves.
Damon Feldman, the mastermind behind Celebrity Boxing, is throwing down the gauntlet. After witnessing video of the two men nearly coming to blows during a card game at a Houston social club in May, Feldman is eager to turn the tension into ticket sales.
“You can’t just battle it out on the street anymore,” Feldman said in a video message directed at the duo. “Let’s take that to the ring — Adrian Peterson vs. Baby Joe. No poker. Boxing!”
So far, Castaneda is game. He told TMZ last week he’s more than willing to square off — if the price is right.
Peterson, however, remains a bit of a wild card. The former MVP hasn’t commented publicly on the offer, but he’s no stranger to the ring. Fans may remember his high-profile bout against fellow NFL star Le’Veon Bell back in September 2022 — a fight that ended with Peterson on the canvas after a brutal KO.
Still, Feldman is convinced a sanctioned celebrity fight between the two would be a hit. “Come on,” he said. “Let’s do it. The fans want to see it.”
Whether the offer leads to contracts and training camps is still unclear, but one thing’s for sure: the feud between AP and Baby Joe has outgrown the felt.
Stay tuned — this poker beef may soon come with a ringside seat.
