A GoFundMe page created in the aftermath of the tragedy describes her as “a loving mother, daughter, and friend,” and adds:
“Her children were her joy, her purpose, and the light of so many lives around them.”
Ongoing Investigation
Sumpter and Newell now face multiple murder charges, including counts related to the death of the unborn child. Authorities have not revealed the full list of charges or provided additional details about their alleged roles in setting the fire. However, police continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses in what they are calling a premeditated act of violence.
