An eight-year-old British boy was left fighting for his life after being attacked by three sharks during a family holiday in The Bahamas, turning what was supposed to be a memorable Caribbean excursion into a terrifying ordeal.
Finley Downer was enjoying a vacation with his family when the horrifying incident unfolded during a tour at Compass Cay. The young boy had entered the water as part of the excursion when he was suddenly attacked by sharks, suffering devastating injuries to both of his legs.
According to his family, the incident happened after tourists began throwing food scraps into the water, attracting a group of nurse sharks to the area.
Finley, unaware of the potential danger, entered the water as the tour continued. What happened next left his family and fellow tourists scrambling to save his life.
The boy’s father, Michael Downer, 44, described the terrifying scene as being “like a scene out of Jaws.”
Finley was reportedly attacked by three sharks, leaving large sections of flesh torn from both of his legs. Amid the chaos and blood in the water, the eight-year-old desperately called out to his father.
“Dad, I don’t want to die,” Finley reportedly pleaded.
