President Donald Trump addressed Iran’s retaliatory missile attack following the U.S. bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities, describing Tehran’s response as “very weak” and claiming that it had been both anticipated and neutralized with minimal impact.
“Iran has officially responded to our Obliteration of their Nuclear Facilities with a very weak response, which we expected, and have very effectively countered,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social Monday afternoon. “There have been 14 missiles fired — 13 were knocked down, and 1 was ‘set free,’ because it was headed in a nonthreatening direction.”
Trump emphasized that no American personnel were injured and damage was minimal. “I am pleased to report that NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done,” he said. “Most importantly, they’ve gotten it all out of their ‘system,’ and there will, hopefully, be no further HATE.”
The former president also thanked Iran for what he described as an early warning that allowed the U.S. to prepare and avoid casualties. “Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same,” Trump added. “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
His comments come amid heightened tensions following the U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear infrastructure over the weekend — a move Trump has described as necessary to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear threat.
