Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is sounding the alarm over what he calls the Democratic Party’s “radical rage,” warning that their increasingly hostile rhetoric could lead to “very dangerous” consequences for President Donald Trump and American democracy.
Speaking on Fox News, Gingrich blasted Democrats for, in his words, abandoning solutions in favor of performative outrage. “They have no policies that work, so all they have left is anger,” he said. “That anger has turned into lawlessness and attacks on our institutions, including the presidency.”
Gingrich also defended Elon Musk, calling him “a public servant in his own right” for his work during Trump’s first term, including collaborations on government efficiency and innovation. He criticized House Democrats for refusing to even applaud bipartisan victories. “It’s not about Trump anymore. It’s about whether you’re willing to acknowledge anything good for the country.”
The former Speaker pointed to polling showing deep public distrust in government. “Eighty-two percent of Americans believe the system is corrupt. Democrats are aligning themselves with bureaucracy, waste, and dysfunction—and it’s costing them support.”
Polling expert Matt Towery echoed those concerns, warning that the Democratic Party is veering toward political extremism reminiscent of its disastrous 1972 platform. “They’re obsessed with Trump. But every minute they spend demonizing him instead of talking about inflation, the border, or energy prices, they’re alienating working-class voters.”
A recent Politico report supports those claims, revealing that congressional Democrats now have lower approval ratings among their own base than Republicans—a historic first.
Gingrich concluded with a stark warning: “This kind of reckless rhetoric isn’t just politically stupid—it’s dangerous. And if they keep it up, they may not just lose an election. They may lose the country’s trust for good.”
