Two individuals have been charged in connection with the tragic death of 18-year-old TikTok influencer Chrystofer A. Whyte, who was gunned down on the very beach where he filmed his final video just hours before the fatal shooting.
Whyte, who had built a social media following of over 100,000 on TikTok under the username @hi.imchrys, was fatally shot on June 12 at Long Branch Beach in New Jersey. He was found with a single gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers around 8:58 p.m., according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities have since charged two suspects — an underage male and 18-year-old Dwayne Exilus — for their alleged roles in the deadly incident.

Due to his age, the juvenile’s name has not been released. He is currently being held at a juvenile detention facility and faces multiple serious charges, including murder, conspiracy to commit unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and hindering apprehension.
Exilus, 18, has been charged with second-degree conspiracy to commit unlawful possession of a handgun, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, third-degree hindering, and fourth-degree possession of a prohibited weapon.

Whyte had shared two TikTok videos on the day of his death. In one clip, he reclines in a beach chair with a message reading, “Stay away from ppl that ignore you until they need you.” In his final post, he lounges in a striped blue beach chair, wearing a pastel pink swimsuit, and pans the camera to show the lively crowd on the beach. He tagged the location with #longbranch.
The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing, and authorities have not yet released further details about the motive or how the suspects are connected to Whyte.
Whyte’s sudden death has left fans and the social media community stunned, with many paying tribute to the young content creator known for his humor and candid posts
