Donald Trump sparks another conspiracy theory about assassination attempt

Another day, another conspiracy theory — this time, swirling around none other than former President Donald Trump, in the aftermath of the dramatic assassination attempt that shocked the nation.

Online chatter has reignited with fresh intensity as amateur sleuths, conspiracy theorists, and self-declared “experts” dissect the latest images of Trump, comparing them meticulously with older photos to question a central detail: the condition of his ear.

The theory? That Trump was either replaced by a body double or that the entire assassination attempt was staged. Yes, seriously.

The latest frenzy began after Trump appeared in public donning his signature red “Make America Great Again” cap, with no visible damage to the ear that was reportedly grazed by a bullet during the July 2024 rally in Pennsylvania — a chilling moment caught on camera when a gunman opened fire, killing one attendee and critically injuring two others.

The assailant, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, used an AR-15-style rifle and fired from a rooftop. He was neutralized on the scene by the U.S. Secret Service, who acted swiftly to shield Trump.

In the hours and days following the attack, Trump was photographed with a bloodied face and a bandage over his ear. The wound, while not life-threatening, became symbolic of what supporters dubbed the president’s “miraculous survival.”

That was enough to unleash a wave of comments, with users calling the injury “fake,” the shooting a “psyop,” and even suggesting that Trump had been replaced. “Likely the biggest scam ever,” one comment read. “They used this to manipulate voters with fake heroism,” another user alleged.

Others went further, reviving an older conspiracy that Trump — like his wife Melania before him — may have been swapped out with a body double. “Look at the ears. Not the same man,” read one popular post.

But for every wild theory, there were just as many voices pushing back….
